I am from the Eastern Shore of Virginia, where shellfish aquaculture is one of the top industries.  After several internships working with bivalves, my interest for aquaculture, specifically oyster rearing and hatchery management have become my career goals.  In May, I will begin working on my thesis by conducting research in the oyster hatchery for Auburn University’s School of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences graduate program.
